Daniel Rama began his career in the Fiji Islands with the Fiji Sugar Corporation in 1970 as a Junior Field Officer. He graduated through the various field activities to become a Field Manager in 1989. In 1993 he was appointed Assistant to the General Manager of one of the largest sugar mills in Fiji, and on the 1st. of June, 1995 he took up the position of Divisional Manager Personnel and became a member of the Executive Management Group. As the Divisional Manager Personnel, he was responsible for the Corporation’s Industrial Relations, Personnel Administration, Public Relations, Occupational Health and Safety, Training, Security and also facilitated the Corporation’s Management Information System.  
 
  In December, 1998 Daniel resigned from the Corporation to join the Government’s arm of the Sugar Industry as the Industrial Commissioner and Registrar of the Sugar Industry Tribunal. He resigned from that position in 2001 to immigrate to the United States.
In October, the same year he took up retail management with Walgreens in Daly City at its stores at Westlake and at San Pedro. In August, 2006 he resigned to join Perfect Financial Group Inc. of Acceptance Capital as the Operations Manager, in South San Francisco branch, a position which he currently holds.
 
     
  Daniel was educated at Xavier College in Fiji and later obtained his Bachelor of Arts Degree and Diploma in Administrative Studies from the University of the South Pacific in Fiji. He had been a member of the Australian Institute of Management, the National Occupational Health and Advisory Board, Vice Chairman of the Human Resources Council of the Fiji Employer’s Federation, member of the Wages Manufacturing Council and Board member of the Sugar Commission of Fiji
While in Fiji, he also served in various religious, social, charitable and service organizations and institutions. Daniel is married to Mereia (a native of Fiji) and has five daughters, all married.
